The Glen Line was acquired by Alfred Holt & Co in 1935 after the Royal Mail collapse. This gave loading rights in London. From then on ships would regularly move from one line to another.
Here are two of the Glen Line ships I sailed on. One as a Cadet and the other as Junior Engineer.
