The early months of 2000 saw more urgent repairs as water was coming in bedroom 2. Yes - leadwork on valleys and skews. Double glazing ordered for the lounge and dining room to stop curtain movement and reduce mounting fuel bills. Coal at £7.50 a bag required urgent action!

The summer was the usual period of extended hard work.

Followed by the lounge getting refurbished.   I gave up with the coal fire and
resorted to gas. Bliss - no coal to bring in. Only one coal fire left out
of the four when we arrived just over two years ago.

Winter 2000-2001 has been as bad as any with at least four lots of snow.		Down there the river has frozen!
